Film Makers Workshop
Film Makers Workshop (8 weeks)
An eight-week, hands-on immersion into the art and craft of film making. Participants learn about script writing, cinematography, directing and editing while actually making a short film. Industry professionals serve as mentors guiding students through the film making process. Upon completion of the class, the students will have their own reel to provide while job-seeking.
Some topics and exercises included: roles and responsibilities of film making, auditioning talent;Technical: lighting, characteristics of the camera, intro to sound, and more; Editing: the craft and using it; Directing and Production: scene breakdown, blocking, scene prep, directing, shooting script, budget, schedule, and cinematography.
The last 3 weeks of class will be the actual shooting and editing of the films. At the end of the final class, we will have a viewing of the films.
